Founder’s Legacy

The Leader is the Hardest Worker

Honoring the Vision and Leadership of Brian Figeroux, Esq.

The New American Chamber of Commerce was founded on a bold and purposeful vision—to empower minority entrepreneurs, strengthen small businesses, and create pathways to generational wealth and sustainable employment. At the heart of that vision stands Mr. Figeroux, whose leadership, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment laid the foundation for everything the Chamber represents today.

Mr. Figeroux often said, “The leader is the hardest worker.” He lived by this principle every day. His leadership was not symbolic—it was active, hands-on, and deeply rooted in service. He believed that true leadership required sacrifice, consistency, and a willingness to do the work others could not or would not do. Through this example, he set the standard for ethical leadership within the Chamber and the business community it serves.

He also spoke—and with conviction—about character and credibility as the foundation of leadership and the true measure of membership. He believed that an organization could only rise as high as the integrity of those who represented it. That membership in the Chamber was not merely a benefit, but a responsibility. He taught that credibility is earned through consistent action, ethical conduct, and service to others, and that character must always precede success. These principles became embedded in the DNA of the New American Chamber of Commerce and continue to guide its membership standards today. Because of the foundation he established, the Chamber’s name carries weight, its programs command respect, and its members are recognized for professionalism, accountability, and trustworthiness. The Chamber’s reputation today is a direct reflection of the values Mr. Figeroux insisted upon from the very beginning.

A true visionary, Mr. Figeroux understood that economic empowerment is a cornerstone of equity and long-term community strength. He believed deeply in the power of entrepreneurship as a tool for transformation—not only for individuals, but for families, neighborhoods, and future generations. His work consistently focused on helping minority-owned and small businesses start, grow, and sustain operations that could create opportunity, stability, and lasting impact.

His dedication to the New American Chamber of Commerce was extraordinary and unmatched. Mr. Figeroux volunteered countless hours, generously sharing his legal knowledge, professional experience, and strategic insight to support entrepreneurs at every stage of their business journey. His commitment went beyond mentorship—he personally provided financial support to the Chamber to ensure its stability, growth, and effective service to its members and the broader community.

Above all, Mr. Figeroux was a man for the people. His leadership was principled, selfless, and rooted in justice, accountability, and empowerment. His influence can be felt in every Chamber program launched, every business supported, and every life touched through the organization’s work.

Today, the New American Chamber of Commerce honors his legacy with deep gratitude and respect. We remain committed to carrying forward the vision he established—while advancing the Chamber with renewed energy, strong governance, and a forward-looking strategy for growth and expanded impact. As we build on the foundation Mr. Figeroux laid, we do so with intention, responsibility, and pride.

His legacy lives on through the New American Chamber of Commerce—and through every entrepreneur empowered, every opportunity created, and every future shaped by his belief that leadership begins with service, integrity, and hard work.
